Training

SOCOG provides training in accordance with standards established by the department for the initial 8 hour training for new providers that includes overview of serving individuals with developmental disabilities including implementation of individual service plans, an independent providers role and responsibilities with regard to services including person-centered planning, community integration, self-determination and self-advocacy, MUI and Rights training, behavioral supports and universal precautions. SOCOG also provides training in accordance with standards established by the department that are required annually (commencing in the second year of certification) for independent providers such as roles and responsibilities with regard to services including person centered planning, community integration, self-determination, and self-advocacy, behavioral supports and MUI and Rights trainings. SOCOG can provide additional trainings for county boards of DD and certified providers as requested and approved.
